Money is the language of value upon which civilization is built. It is a tool by which people all over the world communicate their needs and desires in the context of relative scarcity or abundance. With bad money, the world suffers from an economic communication breakdown that leads to conflict and wealth destruction. Good money is foundational for abundance and prosperity, where prudence, sound judgement, and a bias toward mutually beneficial cooperation are rewarded, while waste, grift, and abuse are naturally disincentivized.

Bitcoin is simply the best money the world has ever known, and its adoption couldn’t be more timely or needed. We now have money that can’t be manipulated or controlled for the benefit of an elite few at the expense of the many. Its unchangeable fixed supply enables value to be stored and communicated with perfect resolution. Value on the bitcoin network can be transferred across the globe instantly and at almost no cost, peer-to-peer and without intermediaries to block, censor, or take a cut of transactions. Money where no trust is required is money that can be trusted.

I believe that bitcoin’s adoption will continue to accelerate. It will bring about changes to global monetary, financial, and economic systems that fundamentally alter our relationship with money. I also believe these changes will be for the betterment of society. For these reasons, I have chosen to focus my work toward driving bitcoin adoption by helping people to understand why it’s important, how it works, and how it can be used.
